I'm so excited! I'm going to the beach for Memorial Day weekend, and I leave
tomorrow. I've been trying to concentrate at work, but unfortunately, my brain went on
vacation a tad earlier than it was supposed to. I don't know what I'm going to do at the beach
yet. I probably won't do too much tanning because I usually burn. But tonight will be hell
because I have to go shopping, pack, do laundry, take the ferret to the sitters (my friend is
so awesome for helping me out with that), and I'm sure there are a million other things I'm
forgetting. But tomorrow, I'll see the blue ocean and not care about the craziness tonight.

You know the summer has arrived when your favorite TV shows go off the air for
the summer. My favorite shows are 24 and Lost. Usually, I have to record my shows because I
am always away from my house. Then I try to find a few spare moments within the week to watch
them. Part of me is relieved that no news shows are coming on. It was almost a burden to have
to go home and set the timer every week. But then again, part of me is going to miss seeing
my Keifer all summer. Oh well, I can always watch the 1st or 3rd season of 24 from my DVD (I
don't have the 2nd season yet).

I forgot how much I like writing. I know I write in this blog ever so often,
but I really like doing creative writing. Stories, poems, parodies, songs, whatever drives me
at the moment. There are a couple of poems I've written on this site, but I haven't actually
written anything creatively in a while. When did life get so busy that the things you take
pleasure in go to the back burner? Is that part of growing up? Should I go back to being a
kid?

Wow, you don't realize how much you hate to drive until you drive for 6 hours in
one day. I had to go to my hometown yesterday to sign some paperwork dealing with my dad's
estate. It wasn't so much the driving I hated as the sitting there. Also, I'm still a little
timid behind the wheel (or in a car at all) because of my brush with painful airbags last week.
But all is well, and hopefully, I won't have to deal with anything like that again for a while.
Oh, I found out today that my sister has created a tribute page for our dad. If you want to see
it, click here. I'll create my own
tribute here someday, but my sister did a good job with setting this up.

It's been a while since I updated my blog. I guess it's that time. Actually, I
wasn't around last week to update it. I was recouperating. I got into a car accident with a
friend of mine on Tuesday night. I wasn't driving, and I was the only one who got hurt. Luckily,
it's just minor abrasions and bruises, but the event itself was really scary. I'm kind of timid
of driving now. One tip: airbags hurt. And how did this all happen? We were riding on I-40 to
go get the rest of my friend's stuff (I was helping him move). This idiot had pulled off the left
side of the road by the cement median. Well, they had a trailer attached to the back of their
truck. There were no lights on the trailer, and it was still partially parked in the left lane.
The only thing I can say is, WHY?

I had an awesome weekend. And guess what? I finally got my nasty apartment clean.
I know that's a shocker, considering that I'm gone all the time. But I just got motivated and
cleaned it. It really didn't take that long either, once I got into it. The thing that took the
longest was talking myself into doing it. And when I picked up that first piece of mail to sort
through, I knew I would be able to finish it all. That's the way I clean. Now, if I could just
keep it clean and not let the clutter take over again...

Ok, I feel like I'm getting a little slack about keeping up with my blog. It's
just that I'm in demand these days. I have stuff to do at work, I have to keep my dates happy,
and then there are those pesky household duties to take care of (which I inevitably put on the
back burner). But all in all, I'm having fun and trying to keep up with my busy social
schedule. Hee hee...I never thought I would be bragging about my social schedule.

Yea! I had my last training session today for the new system at the library. I'm
so glad, I did my happy dance. I don't really like training people. I think the problem with
training is that I start expecting people to have foresight into what I'm doing, so I go too fast,
or I lose people with my ramblings. So, I'm happy that training for the new system is over with.
Now I just have to worry about training for new people I hire. It never ends.

Have y'all seen Rocky Horror Picture Show? Am I the last person on Earth
to see this movie and the accompanying side show? Well, I went to see it on Friday, and it was
a rather bizarre experience. Not a bad experience, just bizarre. I mean, is some of the stuff
that happens in the show actually legal? Not that I care either way. But I didn't like having
to get up in front of everyone just because it was my first time at the show. Leave it to my
friend to make me get up there. I'll get him back later for that. Other than the initial
embarrassment and the Time Warp dance, I didn't really participate. But hey, I might go back
someday and join in the fun a little more. I guess my shyness has to wear off first.
