For Labor Day weekend in 2006, Cliff and I decided to head to the mountains. Cliff had just recently purchased his new car, and he was excited about driving it around the curvy roads of the Blue Ridge Parkway. We had a pretty relaxing vacation, but of course, we had a lot of fun along the way. Although we didn't take pics of some of our time, here's a short timeline of what happened:

• We left the apartment early that Saturday morning to head to the parkway and find our hotel.
• Before we even arrived at our first site, Cliff had the misfortune of getting pulled over by a park ranger. Thankfully, no ticket was involved.
• Saturday night, we stayed at an inn in Blowing Rock, reputed to have a ghost. We didn't find one.
• We didn't venture out for Blowing Rock nightlife because our hotel had it's own bar (woohoo).
• Sunday morning, we headed to Linville Falls for the view.
• After the long hike, we tried to see the caverns. Not standing in line for that long.
• We headed over to Asheville where we got a room at the Holiday Inn.
• The nightlife led us to a pizzeria tap room. Both beer and pizza were great.
• Monday we spent the day on the journey home, happy to get back to Raleigh reality.
