Amsterdam

I didn't want to leave. Amsterdam is the best place I've ever visited. In 2006, Cliff's mom sent us on a vacation of a lifetime (thank you so much, many many times), and we had the best time. The term "weary traveler" took on a whole new meaning for us. We walked everywhere, but in Amsterdam, you can do that easily. The city is designed with businesses and residences close to each other. If you don't walk, you can ride a tram or take a bike. They even have "canal bikes" (which are actually paddle boats) if you're wary of the road. Some people have cars, but public transportation is so great there, you really don't need it. Museums, canals, wonderful restaurants, and of course, a windmill or 2. What a fantastic place! I'm so happy to have been able to share it with Cliff.

The menu at the top of this page provides links to slideshows of some of the things we experienced on our trip. Enjoy your virtual visit of Holland!
