Dad Home The Memorial Amusing Anecdotes Sentiments

MARSHALL GILBERT

This is my daddy. Notice I use present tense "is". Although he is gone from this Earth, he is never gone from my heart. I miss my daddy. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of that man and miss him terribly. This is my memorial to him. My sister has also created a memorial for him (In Loving Memory of Marshall Gilbert) if you would like to visit her page as well. Some of the pics included here are from her page, but she has many more photos to view.

Describing my daddy in one word: smile. He always had a smile in his voice. Each time I would talk to him on the phone, I found my mood vastly improved at the end of the conversation. He always had a way to make me smile, laugh, and joke along with him. And while he knew when conversations required his serious side, talking to him always made me feel that things would be ok. I miss those phone calls. I miss hearing from him a couple times a week. Even if we had nothing new to report, somehow we still managed to have great conversations.

My daddy had a love for life, which might be why he insisted on living to 100 years old. Although he didn't make that goal, he lived a quality life, loving his family and friends and being loved in return. He loved to laugh and many of his interactions would include a chuckle or 2 from the stories he told, from both himself and the people he interacted with. I hope he is chuckling with my uncle Lee now, his best friend from his life on Earth, someone also taken quite early from us.

Please use the menu at the top of the screen to navigate my dad's pages. I hope I have done justice in detailing his life.
